Position: CREW WORKER II - GENERAL SERVICES - CEMETERY OPERATIONS
  Salary: $13.82 Per Hour

Minimum Training & Experience

Graduation from high school and considerable experience operating a backhoe. The equivalent combination of education, training and related work experience may be considered.

A valid SC driver’s license is required.

NOTE: Weekend on-call duty rotation is required on alternating weekends.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Considerable ability to operate a backhoe.

• Knowledge of cemetery grounds maintenance materials, methods, equipment, procedures and operations.

• Skilled in the use of basic hand tools and operation of grounds maintenance equipment.

• Ability to perform manual tasks involving physical strength and endurance under variable weather conditions.

• Ability to understand and carry out specific oral and written instructions and work without close supervision.

• Ability to communicate with people under highly stressful conditions with exceptional tact and a caring demeanor.

• Ability to maintain positive customer-focused relationships with co-workers, supervisors, agencies, the general public, and all other internal and external customers. Personally demonstrates appropriate customer service skills.

Specific Duties

• Locates and sells cemetery lots.

• Opens and closes graves.

• Operates trucks, tractors, backhoes, and other mechanized equipment.

• Keeps accurate work records and reports in a timely manner.

• Performs routine maintenance on tools and equipment.

• Procures supplies, parts and materials required for daily maintenance and repair work.

• Keeps work and employee records.

• Performs all other duties as may be assigned to meet organizational needs.
