Minimum Training & Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management, business, public administration, or related field is required. Supplemented by six to nine years of progressively responsible administrative experience, preferably in the leisure industry. The equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered. Must possess First Aid and CPR certifications. A valid state driver’s license is required.

NOTE: Evening and Weekend Work Required.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Considerable knowledge of cycling programs, events and activities.

• Considerable knowledge of event preparations. • Considerable knowledge of facility maintenance.

• Knowledge of proper English usage, vocabulary, punctuation, spelling, and basic mathematics.

• Computer skills, including the use of Word and Excel.

• Ability to safely and effectively use a variety of maintenance equipment and machinery.

• Ability to communicate and present ideas effectively, orally and in writing, and to keep accurate records and prepare reports.

• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize daily assignments and work activities.

• Ability to identify, support, and promote department-level partnerships. • Ability to maintain positive customer-focused relationships with co-workers, supervisors, agencies, the general public, and all other internal and external customers. Personally demonstrates appropriate customer service skills.

Specific Duties

• Maintains tournament and race quality facilities at the Rock Hill Outdoor Center, including the Velodrome, BMX/Supercross, Mountain Bike Trails, Criterium Course, Multi-purpose fields, Canoe/Kayak Launch and Piedmont Medical Center Trail.

• Supervises cycling coordinators and seasonal staff.

• Plans and makes recommendation to park and facilities enhancements.

• Ensures compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and standards of quality and safety.

• Provides technical assistance to Division Supervisors and Department Director in formulating policies, long-range plans, and needs assessments.

• Works with various City departments and citizen-driven committees as assigned.

• Exercises initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in handling duties.

• Performs all other duties as may be assigned to meet organizational needs.
