Minimum Training & Experience

Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Requires six months in general labor work or closely related experience. Parking or general enforcement related experience and cash handling is preferred. Excellent customer service is required. The equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience may be considered.

A valid driver’s license is required

• Ability to work a parking booth.

• Ability to work in extreme temperatures for extended periods of time. (Hot and Cold).

• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Specific Duties

• Completes daily assignments from supervisor.

• Assist customers in the use of automated revenue control equipment including ticket dispensers, pay stations and exit station equipment and other parking associated technologies.

• Performs a wide range of building and grounds maintenance duties to ensure the proper condition, safety and appearance of public parking garages, parking lots and miscellaneous parking spaces.

• Performs some routine facility maintenance duties, including but not limited to line striping, troubleshooting, arranging directional equipment, and custodial work. Also may be required to operate basic machinery in order to constantly maintain the attractive appearance of walls and parking pavement.

• Assists in patrolling properties to determine maintenance work required; completes work orders as assigned.

• Removes trash and debris from grounds and public parking garages, parking lots and miscellaneous parking spaces.

• Ensures the computers and assigned equipment are clean and in working order, maintains uniforms, safety equipment and assigned tools.

• Patrols parking areas in order to prevent vehicle damage and/or vehicle property thefts.

• Patrols streets and lots on foot, by vehicle or other associated transportation methods.

• Identifies and tickets improperly parked vehicles such as; vehicles in no parking zone, vehicles parked at expired meters, vehicles without permits in permit areas, vehicles in violation of the permit parking program, etc.

• Assists Parking supervisor in the daily operation of the public parking facilities.

• Handles cash and accurately balances till on a daily basis.

• Performs City vehicle inspections prior to beginning a route and again after a route is completed.

• Maintains positive customer-focused relationships with co-workers, supervisors, outside agencies, the general public, and all other internal and external customers. Personally demonstrates appropriate customer service skills.

• Performs all other duties as may be required to meet organizational needs.
