Position: PARKING MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR – GENERAL SERVICES (JOB NO. 9618)

Minimum Training & Experience

Graduation from high school or GED equivalent supplemented by two or more years’ experience in business operations; with at least one year of supervisory or lead worker experience. Cash handling experiences is preferred. The equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience may be considered.

A valid driver’s license is required

• Ability to order and maintain stock of parking meter parts and supplies.

• Ability to effectively use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software.

Specific Duties

• Manage, implement and supervise all daily parking operations.

• Organize, maintain, and reconcile various financial records, both manually and through automated methods.

• Manage claims process, limit liability and maintain overall safety in the facility.

• Train, supervise, counsel, schedule and evaluate garage attendant staff.

• Assist in setup of special event parking programs.

• Balance accounts and assists in preparing reports and statements.

• Provide technical assistance and work direction to support personnel.

• Maintenance of pay on foot revenue control equipment.

• Up keep and maintenance of the facility.

• Operate office equipment (e.g., computer terminal and peripheral equipment, calculator, copier, etc.).

• Prepare and record daily receipt deposits for transport by armored car carrier.

• Assist in collecting, recording and depositing revenues received at the facility.

• Prepare special reports in connection with fiscal records as assigned or required.

• Work special projects as assigned or required.

• Perform activities, functions and other related tasks and duties as assigned or required.

• Administer and maintain lease parking program.

• Interacts with the public (in person, on the phone or by mail) to resolve issues related to the issuance of parking tickets, dissemination of information regarding parking regulations.

• Prepares and analyzes parking data such as the number of traffic accidents, meter revenue, and available spaces; reports findings and makes recommendations based on facts.

• Oversees the daily operations and the staff assigned to parking operations.

• Supervises parking garage staff members and is responsible for the distribution of work assignments and coordination of work schedules.

• Performs cash collections and deposits; ensures the security of all collected revenues from parking garages and lots.

• Prepares monthly and annual reports for the parking system, including ticket activity, rental income, and parking meter revenue.

• Analyzes parking operations, data and work methods and formulates recommendations for procedural changes, equipment improvements, and staffing needs.

• Maintains inventory of supplies and makes purchases when needed; approves invoices for payment. • Coordinates parking operation activities with other members of City staff.

• Assists customers with parking needs; documents daily activities; programs, validations; completes daily facility inspections.

• Addresses and processes customer complaints that cannot be resolved by parking attendants.

• Assists in the development, implementation and supervision of operational plans in relation to large community events.

• Repairs equipment, as needed.

• Supervises and coordinates the activities of the parking division.

• Performs regular field supervision to ensure employee compliance with parking policies while assessing customer service standards.

• Ensures that parking attendants meet and comply with all federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.

• Prepares correspondence, reports, memoranda and directives regarding division operation, performance, citizen complaints or special issues as needed and/or requested by department leadership.

• Assists with the annual division budget. Prepares and updates maps, schedules and graphs to illustrate reports and plans.

• Prepares long range operating and capital forecasts and gathers data for division performance measures and parking/mobility.

• Performs all other duties as may be required to meet organizational needs.
