Position: RECREATION LEADER I - PARKS, RECREATION, & TOURISM – TENNIS CENTER
  Salary: $11.94 - $17.31 Per Hour

Minimum Training & Experience

A high school diploma and one year of college with experience directing organized recreational activities is required. The equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

HOURS: 30 hours per week; some evening and weekend work required.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of the basic techniques and methodology of organizing groups in a recreation setting.

• Knowledge of first-aid methods and necessary safety precautions required in recreation activities.

• Ability to maintain positive customer-focused relationships with co-workers, supervisors, agencies, the general public and all other internal and external customers. Personally demonstrates appropriate customer service skills.

• Ability to enforce rules and regulations to maintain order.

• Ability to prepare facilities for various activities.

Specific Duties

• Assists with various programs and classes at the Rock Hill Tennis Center; sets up and breaks down tables, chairs, and other equipment; leads activities for the program.

• Takes registration; performs other related duties needed to ensure the success of programs such as after school activities, youth activities, rentals and opening and closing the facility for general public use.

• Coordinates special events with the Rock Hill Tennis Center Supervisor.

• Supervises rentals; assists with the set-up for clubs and organizations; opens and closes the facility.

• Assists Supervisor with set-up; conducts meetings for the Advisory Committee, staff meetings, Parks, Recreation and Tourism safety meetings, Neighborhood Association meetings and various committee meetings as needed.

• Performs all other duties as may be assigned to meet organizational goals.
