Position: BILLING SERVICES COORDINATOR - GENERAL SERVICES
  Salary: $40,456 - $58,635 Per Year

Minimum Training & Experience

A high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one year of college in business or related field. Requires six months in customer service or in utilities billing or closely related experience. The equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of the principles and procedures of utility billing and basic accounting.

• Knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in utility meter reading.

• Knowledge of modern office practices and technology; skill in the use of computers for word and data processing and records management.

• Ability to plan, assign, and coordinate the work of others.

• Ability to offer training and assistance to co-workers and employees of other departments, as required.

• Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing.

• Ability to perform administrative work, including the ability to make arithmetical computations readily and accurately.

• Ability to maintain positive customer-focused relationships with co-workers, supervisors, agencies, the general public, and all other internal and external customers. Personally demonstrates appropriate customer service skills.

Specific Duties

• Generates schedules for multiple processes and activities, and schedules staff accordingly; coordinates scheduling with metering staff and customer service.

• Establishes positive working relationships with representatives of community organizations, State/loca agencies and associations, City management and staff, and the public.

• Assists the AMI Data Manager on reviewing billing data for accuracy.

• Coordinates billing with various other City departments and government agencies as necessary.

• Acts as primary business liaison between various bill vendors.

• Manages special projects as assigned.

• Prepares and/or processes performance appraisals, monthly/quarterly/annual progress and revenue reports, memos, correspondence, etc.

• Issues bills for miscellaneous accounts.

• Approves division payroll.

• Performs duties of subordinates as required during staff shortages.

• Performs all other duties as may be assigned to meet organizational needs.
